English phrasal verb practice with "fill in" and "fill out"

Lucy was excited about her first day at soccer camp. When she arrived, the coach greeted her. He handed her a form. "Please fill out this form [vyplň tenhe formulář]," he said with a smile. Lucy took the form and filled out her name, age, and contact information [vyplnila své jméno, věk, a spojení na sebe].

As she handed back the form, Lucy noticed how the coach looked bigger and stronger than last year. "You've really filled out [opravdu jste zesílil] since last season, Coach!" Lucy remarked. The coach explained, "Yes, I've been working out a lot!"

Just then, the coach got a phone call and looked concerned. He turned to Lucy and said, "I have an emergency. Could you help me? I need you to fill in for me [ abys za mne zaskočila] for a while." Lucy was nervous but agreed to help. The coach filled her in [ji zasvětil] on what she needed to do while he was away.

Lucy started by leading the warm-up exercises. At first, she was hesitant, but she remembered how the coach did it. She filled in [Nahradila trenéra] for the coach so well that the other kids didn’t know the coach was gone.

Halfway through the session, the coach returned and watched Lucy lead the team. He liked how she led the practice. After the practice, he filled her in [jí informoval] on what had happened at home. It wasn’t anything serious, and everything was okay now.

The coach thanked Lucy for filling in [že za něho zaskočila]. He was so pleased that he asked her to help him more. Lucy was happy about it. She never thought she would fill in [že by nahradila] for a coach, but now she felt more confident in her abilities.

From that day on, Lucy helped the coach regularly. She learned a lot about soccer. She also noticed that she was filling out [zasiluje v těle] too—getting stronger and more skilled from the extra practice and training.

Lucy’s experience at soccer camp taught her a lot about filling in [v zastupování] for roles that she never imagined she could. That summer truly filled out [rozšířilo] her abilities and confidence, both on and off the soccer field.
